The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is Sabah’s newest wildlife attraction and home to many of Borneo’s native and endangered species.  The park is located just 15km south of the city and is a cross between a traditional wildlife park and a zoo.

This family-oriented park features rare and endangered species such as the Sumatran rhino, Prosboscis monkey, Malayan tigers, orang utan and Borneo Pygmy elephants.  The large land areas allow the park to provide the animals with enclosures that imitate their natural conditions as much as possible.

There is a botanical garden at one end of the park that takes visitors along a 1.4km nature trail which provides plenty of opportunities to examine some rare plant species.
