In November 2005, CET's EnerSys System, an Intelligent Building Power Management System, passed the field acceptance test for the Global Procurement Center at the Wal-Mart Asian Headquarters in Shenzhen, China and received high praise from the customer.
Wal-Mart is the largest private employer in the United States and the biggest retail chain company in the world. According to Fortune magazine, Wal-Mart was ranked No. 1 of the 500 US companies for the fourth consecutive year. The new Wal-Mart Asian Headquarters and Global Procurement Centre, occupying a total floor area of 200,000m2, is situated in the Futian District of Shenzhen. The Wal-Mart Asian Headquarters manages not only the procurement business for the entire China but also its global purchasing network that spends a total of $190 billion USD per year. In addition, Wal-Mart built in the area a flagship store which was the largest in Asia that also incorporated a Warner Brothers Movie Theatre.
CET's EnerSys System installed at Wal-Mart monitors over 300 circuits of various voltage levels and collects electrical data such as V, I, P, Q, PF, Frequency, kWh, kVARh, breaker status, alarm signals, protection information, SOE log and remote control operations. In addition, the intelligent monitoring devices provide advanced power quality functions that can capture sensitive electrical changes such as harmonics anomaly as well as transient voltage fluctuations.
CET's EnerSys System was designed with openness and flexibility in mind. At the Wal-Mart Asian Headquarters, it integrated various IEDs and equipment into its system including digital protection devices, DC power supplies, temperature controllers for transformers and reactive power compensation devices. It also provides an interface with the Honeywell's BMS (Building Management System) through the OPC protocol, allowing the exchange of vital energy information with the BMS in order to achieve higher operational efficiency. The EnerSys System provides comprehensive management functions such as energy management, power quality monitoring, operational optimization as well as event recording, analysis and alarming.
